Shipping at a glance

Retail orders of $75 or more ship free. For retail orders below $75, shipping starts at $9.99. The final rate and available destinations are shown at checkout. The threshold is based on the merchandise subtotal after discounts, before tax.

Shipping is charged on shipped orders containing professional products, including Backbar sizes. The charge is shown at checkout. Professional rates use $25 merchandise-subtotal bands based on $9.99 plus 8.5% of the discounted merchandise subtotal, priced at the lower end of each band. Rates start at $26.99 for $200–$224.99 in merchandise. Orders of $5,000 or more have a $434.99 shipping charge, subject to order review.

Any shipped order containing professional products requires at least $200 in merchandise after discounts, before tax and shipping. Meeting the minimum does not waive shipping. In-store pickup is free with no minimum for retail and professional orders.

Why professional shipping varies

Developers, coactivators, Backbar shampoos and conditioners, and other liquid or large-format products can be unusually heavy relative to their price. Actual carrier costs vary with contents, weight, destination and packaging. The professional shipping bands provide an upfront checkout charge.

We select the most economical practical shipping method and work to send orders promptly. Many dense or liquid orders travel in carrier flat-rate packaging when that is the best fit, but the service used may vary.

Mixed retail and professional orders

If a shipped cart contains any professional product, the $200 merchandise minimum and professional shipping apply to the full discounted merchandise subtotal. The $75 retail free-shipping threshold does not apply to these carts. Mixed carts receive one professional freight charge; a separate retail shipment may display as free in checkout.

Denver pickup

Free pickup with no minimum is available at 1520 Wazee St., Denver, Colorado, for retail and professional orders when shown at checkout. Select Pickup at checkout and wait for your pickup confirmation.

Timing and confirmation

We review professional eligibility, availability and order details before approving payment and fulfillment. Card payments are authorized at checkout and captured after order approval. Payment by Invoice creates an unpaid order request; payment invoices are sent manually after review. Most in-stock orders are prepared or shipped promptly, but timing can vary by product, destination, weather, carrier conditions and special-order availability.
